Pectoral Implants

Many men cannot develop their pectoral muscles despite a regular exercise regimen. The chest may be underdeveloped due to a congenital defect or injury. The pectoral implant procedure helps to improve the chest’s appearance by placing a solid, but soft, implant below the existing pectoral muscle. These silicone rubber implants are not a gel-based implant like those used for women. As a result, they result in a much firmer natural texture.

The pectoral implants are pliable, but firm, which provides the feel of a well-trained pectoral muscle. Implants are available in a variety of sizes so that the surgeon and patient can choose an implant during the pre-operative visit that best fits the contour and compliments the rest of the patient’s body. Also, single implants can be used for reconstructive purposes.

The operation is performed under nurse administered sedation and lasts between 1-2 hours. For cosmetic enlargement, the implant is placed under the muscle to help hide it under the existing muscle tissue. This type of implant placement provides for the most natural result.
